Set in 150 acres just 40 minutes from the city of London and within sight of Canary Wharf on a clear day, Silverleys polo club is the ideal first choice for Hertfordshire and London based polo enthusiasts or those keen to have a go.
Silverleys polo club is “club” first and competitive polo second, be it chukkas, tournaments or simply exercising your ponies, there is always something going on and other members to join in the fun. The clubhouses next to the polo fields provide a unique focal point for visitors and players who are not in the current game. The licensed bar is open from 11:00am providing delicious food throughout the games. Often open until late into the evening, serving wonderful Argentinean asado’s.
Our permanent home for the last 10 years provides an outstanding facility which is open and available to all Members 7 days a week. Members can stick and ball, receive instruction, play Club and instructional chukkas and low goal tournaments with or without professional players, in order that all Members can participate at whatever level they wish.
Three pitches, two with clubhouse facilities and our third pitch now established as our wet weather pitch we have the justified reputation of being able to play throughout the wettest and driest conditions cancelling fewer games than any other club.
Our own borehole and reservoir provides full irrigation on our number one pitch, which is to be extended to our second pitch.
The club is geared to providing a relaxed polo environment for both those who want to look after their own ponies and rarely play with professionals, to those who are “time poor” and prefer to have a full livery and groom service and play with a professional who can maximise their playing excitement and fun.
